Dr. Wolfgang Singer Named Professor of Neurology: Advancing Autonomic Research at Mayo Clinic
NAPS Consortium Member Dr. Wolfgang Singer has been promoted to Professor of Neurology at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. After earning his M.D. from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany, he joined Mayo Clinic Rochester for research training, residency, and subspecialty education in neuromuscular disorders and clinical neurophysiology. He is board-certified in Neurology, Autonomic Disorders, and Neuromuscular Disorders. He co-leads the NAPS Consortium Biofluid Core.
As director of Mayo’s clinical autonomic laboratories, Dr. Singer advances novel biomarkers, clinical research, and trials, attracting patients with rare neurologic conditions worldwide. He has also spearheaded the implementation of software and interfaces that have reinforced Mayo’s position as a leading center for autonomic testing.
A dedicated educator, Dr. Singer has served as faculty and course director for multiple Mayo School of Continuous Professional Development programs and directed workshops at major international meetings, including the Annual International Symposium on the Autonomic Nervous System.
